Rotary International has awarded its most prestigious honor, the “Service Above Self Award” for 2024-2025, to Professor Dr. Triptish Chandra Ghose from Rotary Club of Comilla. The renowned cardiologist and humanitarian received this recognition for his exceptional dedication to public health and social welfare.

Award Ceremony in Dhaka Celebrates Decades of Service

The award ceremony took place on Saturday, April 19, at the Krishibid Institution auditorium in Dhaka during Rotary’s Incoming Leaders Training Seminar 2025. Rotary Bangladesh Country Coordinator PDG Dr. Ishtiaq A. Zaman presented the award to Dr. Ghose.

Dr. Ghose shared his thoughts on Sunday evening: “This award brings honor not only to me personally but to all the people of Bangladesh. I hope it inspires many others to engage in social service and humanitarian work.”

Transforming Cardiac Care for Underserved Communities

Dr. Ghose founded the Heart Care Foundation in Comilla, where he serves as President. Through this organization, he has provided free medical care to over 100,000 underprivileged cardiac patients. His work addresses heart disease and stroke, two of the world’s leading causes of death.

• Raised widespread awareness about cardiovascular health
• Advocated for disabled, autistic, and marginalized communities

Two Decades of Rotary Leadership

For more than 20 years, Dr. Ghose has served Rotary International in various leadership capacities. His positions include Club President, Assistant Governor, District Training Leader, and District Advisor. He holds the titles of Paul Harris Fellow, Benefactor, and Major Donor to the Rotary Foundation.

International Recognition for Heart Health Advocacy

Dr. Ghose’s contributions have earned him recognition from leading global organizations, including the American College of Cardiology and the World Heart Federation.

In 2023, the World Heart Federation honored his Heart Care Foundation with the “Most Inspiring World Heart Day Campaign Award.” This international recognition highlights the impact of his work beyond Bangladesh’s borders.
